HISTORY
- The T-50 Golden Eagle is the first Korean-made supersonic jet trainer. Full scale development began in 1992 and the maiden flight was made in 2002. After extensive flight testing, mass production began in 2005. The single engine t-50 trainer was later produced in the following combat variants, T-50b, TA-50 and FA-50.
FEATURES
- Though the T-50 closely resembles the F-16 made by Lockheed Martin, it is 11% smaller 23% lighter. It utilizes a triplex digital fly by wire control system. The T-50 is equipped with a General Electric F404-GE-102 turbofan engine which is also powers the F/A-18 and Gripen fighters.
