About us

We have been serving the Filipino hobbyist for over 40 years.  Starting in the early 70's, we have been working hard to provide you, our customers, a wide range of products to suit the palette of any scale model enthusiasts.  

We still remember the early beginnings in the 1970s.  Voltes V was a big hit.  Gi Joe and Barbie were popular.  Plastic scale models was the hobbyist's nirvana. The glamorous Rizal Theater was the premier place to see movies.  Makati was littered with the original Angela Arcade, Makati Supermarket, Rustans (it was blue), Sulo restaurant, Anson's Arcade and bookstores like Erehwon and PECO (Philippine Education Company) and our home, the Maranaw Mall.  It was the second floor of Maranaw Mall where we began our journey.  We don't think "traffic" was even in our vocabulary then.  

As Makati took shape, we witnessed the birth of the QUAD. I think it was the first quadruplex cinema at that time.  QUAD, Shoemart Makati and Rustans were the symbol of Makati's elegance and the premier shopping destination.  We moved to Goldcrest as Maranaw became a victim of progress.  All around us, Makati Commercial Center was changing and its landscape was modernizing.  The days of free parking in Makati was slowly disappearing.  Rizal theater lost its luster and the high rises began.

Lil's Hobby Center moved again from Goldcrest to Park Square.  Here we saw the evolution of the QUAD to Glorietta; the birth of Greenbelt and high rise after high rise as the Makati skyline took shape; Insular Life, SGV,  PLDT, San Miguel, BPI; one by one, the skyline took shape and Ayala Avenue took its place as the financial and business capital of the Philippines.  

Today, after more than 40 years of service, we are still passionate and we intend to continue serving the Philippine market for as long as we can.  We feel that there is no better pleasure than seeing the joy of scale modeling passed on from generation to generation. We hope we can continue to provide you, our customers, with the service and selection that you have grown to expect from us.  We currently have three branches
